Day Forty Seven - Sticky ... Toffee... 🤫

IMG_1005.JPG

A different start to this morning (8 a.m.) as I was on stock duty ... this basically does what it says on the tin ... it's making large quantities of stock that can be used fresh or frozen for recipes of the day or upcoming ... my task ... to go at the chicken carcasses from yesterday with a massive cleaver ... it became obvious very quickly that I could never be a serial killer ... 😂😱😇

I got into the kitchen to start my day (after stock duty) at 9 a.m. and even though I felt wrecked I enjoyed the morning ... I made Mussels ... Goan style and Butterscotch pudding ... I also made up a cheeky little coriander chutney (a little different to how I normally make it). For the first time in a bit I was really happy with what I put out ...😀

After a "light" lunch I went back to the cottage for the usual shower and ended up falling asleep ... 😱😴

Note ; I read about the tragic news of Anthony Bourdain over lunch ... it's truly dejecting when someone decides to end their life, especially someone you always considered to be a shining light and going against the grain ... one of my favourite cookbooks was his "les halles" and I recommend it to anyone look for tasty brasserie style French food ... but it just goes to show that all is not always what it seems ... that black dog can take over ... Remember ... a problem shared ... talk to someone don't suffer alone (the voice of experience) !!! 😢

I decided not to go to West Cork with the others (6 or 7 other students) as I felt I needed to chill out and relax for a bit ... it means a short blog for the next few days 😊

Week Seven ... done!
